Playa Tamarindo is one of the most beautiful beaches of the pacific coast of Costa Rica. It is situated adjacent to “Las Baulas Marine National Park”, which is one of the most important nesting places on the planet for the giant Leatherback turtles. These turtles are the biggest kind of sea turtle in the world.
In recent years the village has become one of the most popular seaside destinations of the country and has experienced growth and development. Trips to nearby national parks, like Palo Verde, Rincón de la Vieja, Barra Honda and Tenorio National Park, among others are daily organized.
Tamarindo is located 4 1/2 hours driving from San José or 1 hour from Liberia’s International Airport. Forty five minute flights from San José are daily available.
