Arenas Del Mar is located on the Central Pacific Coast of Costa Rica about 2 km. from the port of Quepos, in Manuel Antonio. Most visitors to Costa Rica arrive in San Jose which is located about 4 hours by car or a short 20 minute flight from Arenas Del Mar. Both Nature Air and Sansa offer many flights during daylight hours to and from Quepos. Some guests also fly in from abroad to Liberia from where it is a 5 hour drive or two short domestic flights of about 25 and 45 minutes each.
Driving directions - San Jose to Manuel Antonio
Head west out of San Jose towards the international airport on the Inter American Highway and turn off at the Atenas-Orotina-Jaco-Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio exit. Take a left and follow the road and continue to the town of Orotina. Once you arrive in Orotina follow the signs to Jacó and then down the pacific coast to Quepos. Once in Quepos downtown, follow the signs to Manuel Antonio National Park and later the signs to Arenas Del Mar Beach & Nature Resort. Before the road starts descending you will see Barba Roja Restaurant, Los Altos Condominiums and Arenas Del Mar sign to your right. Take a right towards Mariposa Hotel and continue for 600 meters down the road until you reach the second left-hand side entrance were you will find another sign. Continue down the hill till the end of the road. Estimated driving time: 4 hours. Four by four vehicle preferred, but regular cars should have no problem.
