Hotel FLORBLANCA LOCATION

VIA LAND

Drive from San José or the Juan Santamaría (SJO) International Airport to Puntarenas via highway ONE. In Puntarenas, drive to the very end of the road and turn right going around the point, where you will see the dock. You need to board the ferry that goes to Paquera (departs every 2 hours, from 4:30 am to 8:30 pm; please check with us the updated schedule and be sure to arrive in Puntarenas at least ½ hour before sailing time). There`s another ferry to the town of Playa Naranjo (don’t board this one).

Once you arrive at the ferry line you need to wait until a ferry representative gives you a token (in Spanish: ficha): with this you can go to the ticket booth and purchase your ticket (the car ticket applies to the driver too). The ferry ride takes approximately 2 hours, crossing the Gulf of Nicoya, with scenic views over the islands that it emerges.

Once you get off of the ferry in Paquera, you will drive along the winding road around the south coast of the Nicoya’s Peninsula through the town of Tambor and then straight through Cóbano, a marked left turn takes you to Santa Teresa / Mal País. From Paquera to the beach it’san hour and forty-minute drive (55 kilometers): 70 % is paved road and after Cóbano, the last 15 kilometers are gravel road.

After a steep downhill, you will reach the beach at a place known as Playa Carmen or “T” steet; go to the right to Playa Santa Teresa. Florblanca Resort is located 4 kilometers north or “right” from “T” street. This last trail is the roughest part of the trip.

You will pass several small and narrow bridges, use caution when crossing. Keep going after the soccer field you will see on the right hand side for about a kilometer more. When you start going up a small hill, keep you eyes open since the entrance to our resort is just about the top on the left hand side, as we are just beach front.

You made it!!!!!
