MOUNTAIN HOTELS IN COSTA RICA
For mountain hotels we have the Peace Lodge, located in the mountains of Heredia, very near Poas Volcano, one of the most attractive volcanoes in Costa Rica and near Braulio Carrillo National Park, set in a rainforest environment. Be sure to bring warm clothes to feel comfortable in this mountain hotel as the temperature may reach 21°C, which is the main reason all the rooms at Peace Lodge have their own private fireplace, to keep your room warm and cozy. You may admire the beautiful views of Poas Volcano National Park and exuberant cloud forest from an outside Jacuzzi on the balcony of your room.
Be ready to enjoy the nature park where Peace Lodge is located, La Paz Waterfall Gardens, a majestic piece of rainforest, where hummingbirds can be fed by hand, and you can learn about butterflies in the biggest butterfly observatory of the world. For flower lovers, the orchid garden will show you most of the species found in Costa Rica. Reptiles are another attraction, as the gardens feature more than 30 snakes and , who will let you to experience their habitat and secrets.
Other attractions here that you should not miss are the trout lake and the Casita de La Paz. But the best gift from this park is its five awesome waterfalls, where you can explore the wildlife and forest through the 3.5 kilometers of paved trails.
