“Consisting of a main building with a kitchen, bar, communal dining room, open-air lounge and a clutch of guest cabins, the lodge certainly strives to be as comfortable yet sustainable as possible. For starters, the facility is nearly completely run on solar power. So, unlike many fishing lodges in remote parts of Canada, you won't hear the constant hum of a gas-powered generator. [...] While Playa Nicuesa bills itself as an eco-friendly, multi-sport jungle experience, fishing is certainly one of the main attractions- guests can opt for inshore or offshore guided trips, or head out in outfitted fishing kayaks.”

Villa Caletas: This collection of elegant rooms sequestered in the jungle has amazing views of the surrounding foliage and sea below, making it one of the area's most remarkable hotels.
Florblanca Resort: Secluded at the northern end of Santa Teresa, the handsome and spacious villas have an Asian feel, especially in the outdoor Balinese-inspired bathrooms and sunken tubs.
Casa Turire: Set near sugar plantations and overlooking an artificial lake, this timeless hotel looks like a manor house that has survived mysteriously intact from the turn of the 20th century.
Peace Lodge: They are proper abodes for elfin kings, especially the spacious, grottolike bathrooms with two showers, a whirlpool tub, tropical gardens, and private waterfall.
Reviews of Small Distinctive Hotel Members in Frommer’s Travel Guides:

Hotel Capitan Suizo: This well-appointed beachfront hotel sits on the quiet southern end of Tamarindo.
Villa Caletas: It's hard to find a luxury hotel in Costa Rica with a more spectacular setting than this.
Florblanca Resort: This intimate resort hotel is, hands down, the most luxurious option in this neck of the woods and one of the most luxurious boutique hotels in the country.
Peace Lodge: The rooms at this outgrowth of the popular La Paz Waterfall Gardens just might be some of the most impressive in the country
Arenas del Mar: Finally, there's Manuel Antonio that combines the best of all worlds, direct beach access, rainforest setting and surroundings, fabulous views, and luxurious accommodations.
