A converted Tropical Victorian mansion, the Grano de Oro Boutique hotel offers the warmth and comfort of staying in a private home with all the amenities of a Luxury hotel.

Situated on a shady street just off Paseo Colón, San José’s main thoroughfare, Hotel Grano de Oro is a sanctuary in the heart of the city. The hotel’s charming atriums and corridors are filled with the ambiance of old San José. A lush tropical walkway leads to a rooftop terrace that offers soothing Jacuzzis and a spot for secluded sunbathing, perfect for a Costa Rica honeymoon.

With a choice of Standard, Superior, Deluxe or Deluxe King, Grano de Oro has a room to suit every need. All the rooms in this elegant turn-of-the-century mansion feature air conditioning and ceiling fans, 300 thread-count linens, flat-screen TVs and Simmons Beauty Rest Pillow-top mattresses. There is free WiFi throughout the hotel.

A Family Suite consists of two rooms with an adjoining shared bath, offering plenty of room for up to 5 people. The luxurious Garden Suite, once the original living room of this converted mansion, offers a private tropical garden and spacious seating area, 2 flat screen TV’s and a king sized bed.

The hotel’s signature Vista de Oro Suite, reached by a private staircase, commands breathtaking views of the Central Valley skyline. The suite reflects the turn-of-the-century style of the original home with handmade tiles and rich wood paneling. The suite’s living area is stylishly furnished with exquisite antiques and a luxurious king-size bed. A large in-room Jacuzzi is the ideal vantage point from which to savor a glass of champagne and watch the lights of the city twinkle below.

Jacuzzi Services

A rooftop garden terrace with lawn beds and 2 Jacuzzis provides secluded lounging, great for relaxing after a day in the city or out on a tour. Open daily from 9a.m. to 10p.m.

Grano de Oro Restaurant uses only the freshest ingredients to prepare their French Mediterranean influenced cuisine, this fine dining restaurant is a popular spot. The restaurant has the charming ambiance of a magnificent period home with an elegant inner courtyard that is not to be missed. The Grano de Oro houses an award winning wine cellar. Enjoy a glass of wine from our Premium Wine menu or a refreshing tropical cocktail after a long day of touring or an afternoon of relaxing. Open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
